The LBCC Vikings fell short after a tough game against Citrus College with a score of 31-28 on Oct. 10.

By halftime, the Vikings were up 21-7 with incredible passes from Long Beach quarterback Kayde Bodine.

Head Coach Marques Cooper highlighted players, including Bo Jones, Kayde Bodine and Khalil Warren.

Warren, a sophomore, and Jones, a freshman, have both contributed to the Vikings’ offense this season.

“Some of the younger guys stepped up. Khalil and Bo did a great job moving the ball down the field,” Cooper said.

The Vikings took the lead after Bodine threw a complete pass to wide receiver Jones.

In the fourth quarter the Vikings let up allowing the opposing Citrus to come back with a score of 31-28.

“The next couple of games we need to get our team going early instead of holding that momentum in and not letting up in the fourth quarter,” Bodine said.

LBCC running back Warren led with 100 rushing yards while carrying 13 times.

“During this game we did a good job of making big plays while being able to get our skill makers the ball and letting them run with it,” Warren said.

The Vikings have done tremendous work on their offense this past year and it was the best offensive game they’ve had all year.

“We definitely keep the bright spots in mind especially considering this is our best offensive game this year alone,” Cooper said.
