ASB is holding a special election in an attempt to fill the open positions remaining after the Spring election, yet only applications for ASB president were received, leaving four positions vacant.
The open positions that had no student applications during this election include LAC (Liberal Arts Campus) vice president, TTC (Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus) vice president, secretary and treasurer.
This special election follows an ASB election in the Spring of 2026, which had initial results voided and polls reopened to allow students to vote once again.
“After the first two weeks of the semester, if any elected positions are still vacant, they can be filled by appointment by the ASB cabinet,” Student Activities Advisor Kim Hamon said.
Currently, there are four applicants running for ASB President that LBCC students can vote for.
When asked why former ASB president Priince Bass no longer holds the title of ASB president, Hamon informed The Viking News that she was unaware of why, just that she heard the seat needed to be filled.
Students can vote for the election by visiting their Viking Portal and accessing the Viking Engagement page, or by visiting this link.
